EAC Asbestos Management Services offer asbestos management, consultancy, contract administration and training services. Our personnel are highly skilled and suitably qualified to deliver all the services that we provide.

Our surveyors hold BOHS P402 certificates in asbestos survey and have more than 20 years combined experience of carrying out surveys at various locations including warehouses, lift shafts, boiler rooms, schools, Local authority premises, etc. All our surveyors are also qualified analysts with BOHS P401 certificates. This gives an added advantage of being able to identify materials that may skip the attention of other surveyors. Our clients range from individuals to large organizations.

Our surveys are carried out in accordance with the HSE Guidance Note HSG264.

Regulation 4 of Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR) 2006 creates a duty to manage the risks from asbestos in non-domestic premises. The duty holder is the person responsible for the management and repairs of the building.

The duty to manage also includes common areas of residential buildings.

The risks will vary with circumstances ranging from normal occupation of a building to the repair, refurbishment and demolition of the premises, and they will each need to be assessed.

This assessment will be used to produce a management plan, which details and records the actions to be undertaken to manage and reduce the risks from asbestos. The requirements are placed on “duty holders” who should:

Take reasonable steps to determine the location of materials likely to contain asbestos

Presume materials to contain asbestos, unless there are good reasons not to do so.

Make and maintain a written record of the location of all known asbestos and presumed

asbestos containing materials.

Monitor the condition of asbestos and all presumed asbestos containing materials.

Assess the risk of exposure from the asbestos and presumed asbestos materials and

document the actions necessary to manage the risk.

Take steps to see that the actions above are carried out.

We can help with the formulation of your organization’s asbestos management policy to enable you safeguard against failure to comply with your duty to manage asbestos in your premises.

We can help you by carrying out asbestos surveys to suit your need. Locate and identify materials containing asbestos on the premises and provide an assessment of the condition of asbestos.

The photographs and locations of all inspections will be referenced to site plan and the reports will be presented in very easy to understand format in electronic and hard copies.

We can create a live asbestos register so that you can record any change to the register without consulting us to update your register.

We can provide asbestos awareness training to your staff to enable you carry out in-house monitoring of any asbestos containing material and update of your register.

We can undertake the monitoring of asbestos containing materials on your behalf and manage your asbestos register. This option allows your organisation to focus on other things with the assurance that your duty to manage asbestos has been delegated to a competent organisation

We are not affiliated to any asbestos removal contractor, so you can be very confident that there will not be any conflict of interest in the advice that we give.

We can undertake asbestos contract monitoring/supervision on your behalf including contracts that fall within CDM Regs. This will involve looking at the method statement of your chosen asbestos removal contractor, asking for a revision of the method statements where necessary and making sure that the contractors work to the approved method statements or you can simply commission us to arrange removal or remedial works of any asbestos containing material.

We can also enter into contract negotiations on your behalf to make sure that you get the best value for money.
